Let’s just cut to the chase …
Experienced lead and rhythm guitarist seeks Classic Rock Band
Give me 3-5 tunes to audition and I’ll be ready
To give you an idea of my electric tone, I sound like Neil Schon. No, I didn’t say I was as good as him, I said I SOUNDED like him. 🙂
Can I audition for your band? If not, do you know a band who is looking?
I need a working band that plays 2-3 gigs a month. I can begin playing more gigs or full-time in 2025. I’d like the extra money, but money isn’t my motivator. Playing great music and having fun with excellent people is my motivator. I want to be in a band playing corporate gigs, casinos and private parties with the occasional bar gig. I’ll do a start up with the right people.
Who am I?
Talented Â
-
- But not so talented that I think I’m all that and a bag of chips. I’ve been playing guitar and singing in public for 53 years. The majority of my experience is in worship bands and as a solo artist with 14 album artist and engineering credits. I’ve got great chops, but I’m no Elvis or Alex Lifeson. Listen to me below to form your own opinion. But I know how to perform and have been known to live in the recording studio.
Excellent vocalist
- I know harmony very well.
- I’m a strong lead singer, but I’m a better back vocalist in rock.

- Commitment to excellence
- I’m ready to play at rehearsals. Practice is for homework.
- Give me 3-5 tunes to prepare for audition. I guarantee you I’ll be ready. Hey, let’s do Show Me the Way. I’ll sing and play acoustic. And I’ve always wanted to sing and play electric rhythm for White Room. Female lead vocalist? Let me sing Love Shack with you. Then, I’ll back you on acoustic with either Bobby McGee or Crazy On You. I can sing Love Will Keep Us Alive and play acoustic. I love the Eagles. I can play and sing many of their tunes. How about Already Gone?
My band philosophy …
My ideal Classic Rock band position is as the rhythm guitarist and creating back vocals. I’m a good lead player, but BETTER when there’s another solid rhythm guitar player in the band. My strong belief is that the best bands have a strong rhythm guitarist that can take them to the next level. A strong rhythm guitarist joining a solid bassist and drummer makes for a dream backbeat team. That dream backbeat team is the solid rock on which great vocalist and soloist excel.
About Me
My life has been dedicated to writing, recording, learning and performing new songs. I can learn your list and learn it well, and create the lists if you need me for that. As a worship leader and a music publisher, I am well versed in song arranging, rehearsal and song catalog management. I am well-used to learning hundreds of songs (and probably know many of the ones on your list). I will be a dedicated member and always on time.

I prefer an the East Valley-based band but will travel anywhere and have all the gear I need. I include a Behringer X32 in my rack that can be used as the mains and/or as a monitoring amp (I like using in-ear for monitors so I can hear all the players and can distribute that to the rest of the band for other in-ear or wedge monitor use. I can manage the band monitor system and/or the house mix).

Playing Examples
Lead electric guitar and back singing (left side in the video):

The Garden

(I am the electric and the acoustic in the left ear and most always the high male harmony)
I do not do drugs. I’m a social drinker, but NEVER drink on a gig.
Thanks for the consideration,
Steve
